Our Local Area
We are uniquely located in the Lanesville section of Gloucester, overlooking
a lobstering cove, which is named Lanes Cove, and beautiful Ipswich Bay.
The sunsets here are breathtaking, as is the ocean view.
Lanesville is a quiet hamlet on the north part of Gloucester. A few minutes
ride along the rocky coast takes you into Rockport. Rockport is a small seaside
town full of history, art galleries, scenic beauty, restaurants and unique
shops. The downtown is a nice place to walk around, and there is a nice
sandy beach downtown as well.
Gloucester holds a unique place in American history, being the second
landing point of the original Pilgrims (1623), home of famous America
n and
international artists, and most famous as America's first fishing port and oldest art colony in America. Despite the fishing regulations enacted in recent years, Gloucester is still a real seaport,
where fishing and lobstering are part of the daily activity of the
community. Here you'll enjoy whale watching, deep sea fishing, sailing
cruises on historic or modern vessels, shopping, dining, scenic walks and
drive
s, kayaking and more.
The history and witchcraft exhibits of Salem and the wonders of Boston area
easily reachable by direct train service from downtown Gloucester. The train
station is about 10 minutes from here by car.
